Hal Lindsey says Iran became the most dangerous nation on earth in 2005. Iran is definitely a situation to keep an eye on in these end times. Their president a couple of months ago issued a call for Israel to be wiped off the map, then a few weeks ago called for Israel to be moved to Europe (see earlier blogs for links). Then just last week he announced that the Europeans had created the new state of Israel last century not to help the Jewish people, but to get them out of Europe.
...In each case, our mainstream news media reported the story then moved on. Something that could effect the lives of every man, woman and child in the world is not worthy of continuing coverage. It is not as exciting as murders, fires, and celebrity court cases.
...According to Mr. Lindsey's report, Mr. Ahmadinejad, Iran's president, believes that what he calls the Twelfth Imam (or Mahdi, the Muslim messiah), is returning within the next two years. Mr. Ahmadinejad contributed $17 million to a mosque in Jamkara, which is where he believes the Mahdi will appear. Now to another of Mr. Ahmadinejad's viewpoints made public last month. He believes that the main purpose of the Islamic revolution is to pave the way for the reappearance of this Twelfth Imam.
...Mr. Lindsey points out that part of the West's concern about Iran's nuclear program is that with the radical Islamic beliefs about martyrdom, they might be willing to sacrifice the Arab people living in Israel through nuclear strikes in order to wipe out Israel and hasten the end-time scenario. He says that has actually been discussed in Iranian strategy sessions. Don't know how he would know that, and I don't know if it is true. But I do believe that we are in the last days, and the situation in the MidEast bears watching.
...Incidentally, Mr. Lindsey has now officially given up his program on TBN.

...And here's a link to an article by respected journalist Charles Krauthammer regarding the Iranian situation.

Chuck Colson's nightmare...just a dream? I guess time will tell. I thought this was pretty surprising coming from Mr. Colson.
...Mr. Colson's dream reminded me that Mr. Lindsey believes as he outlined in his book The Late Great Planet Earth that the U.S. will not be a world power at the end. And it brought to mind prophecies by various people, David Wilkerson among them, of strikes against America that would bring us down. I continue to pray for the Lord's mercy upon our great nation. I read lately where the majority of this country still professes to be Christians, though I sometimes find that hard to believe, and you would certainly never know it from what you see in the news media or from the entertainment industry.
